A substance use disorder of addiction combined with a mental illness like depression is known as a co-occurring disorder, or dual diagnosis.
Some people use drugs or alcohol to cope with a mental health issue, while others are addicted to a substance that causes them to become depressed or develop an anxiety disorder.
Each person is different, and the reasons behind their addiction or mental health issues must be identified and properly addressed at the same time.
Our dual diagnosis treatment program is lead by licensed Doctorate and Masters clinicians with a background in both psychiatric and addiction medicine to effectively treat and heal both conditions simultaneously for a successful and lasting recovery.
