Young Adult Addiction Treatment
The Oro House Young Adult Addiction Treatment Program in Los Angeles and Malibu, California, embraces our compassionate care model that is built on the idea of connection, not control.
All of our clients face a unique set of challenges, but this is especially true for young adults who are transitioning into adulthood from high school or possibly even college.
We have developed a unique young adult addiction treatment program that really works for those who come into our care.
The young adult program is constantly evolving as an emerging model of treatment to address the distinct challenges faced by young people today, which can be quite different from that of our other clients.
The younger generation is just beginning to learn life skills and gaining vocational experience that will set them on the road to the rest of their life. Some haven’t worked for a few years while others haven’t even started on a career path yet yet.
Whatever the case, experimenting with drugs or alcohol at an early age can have an enormous impact on the developing brain and can cause negative consequences that last a lifetime.
Named Best Luxury Malibu Rehab by Newsweek
For this reason, getting treatment for substance dependence and addiction early is crucial for a successful recovery and overall health. And the earlier the better.
Or House created a holistic and well-balanced healing environment where young adults feel heard, understood, and valued for their opinion and outlook on life.
We guide them to become who they are truly meant to be, to live life fully and in the healthiest way possible, in addition to being sober.

Young Adult Addiction Treatment Program Features
The Oro House Young Adult Addiction Treatment Program offers the same treatment therapies found in all of our programs, but they are tailored to the specific needs of a younger generation.
We take pride in being selected by Newsweek as one of the best treatment centers in the United States. We are accredited by the Joint Commission, licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), and Legit Script certified to ensure all of our clients receive the highest quality of care available.
Our non 12 step program uses evidence-based treatment modalities that are successful for treating all forms of alcohol and drug addiction.
For our clients who require drug and alcohol detox, we provide an unparalleled level of care with board certified treatment specialists and full-time registered nurses on staff 24/7 to supervise detoxification for the comfort and safety of our clients.
Many teens and young adults struggle with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and others that can complicate addiction and cause co-occurring disorders. For this reason, we specialize in dual diagnosis treatment for all of our clients who require a program that treats both conditions at the same time.
We use a wide range of successful treatment therapies for addiction recovery including:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Motivational Therapy
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Neurofeedback Therapy
- Relapse Prevention Therapy
- Somatic Experiencing
- Seeking Safety
We have many others, but these are some of the best suited for young adults in recovery.
Individualized Young Adult Care Model
Each of our clients is unique, and no two are ever like another, yet we still seem to share so much in common with one another. We recognize each person for who they are and honor and share in their individual stories.
Beginning with the very first assessment for each person that enters our young adult addiction treatment program, we explore their history to determine a precise and individualized treatment plan that is shaped to fit their specific needs.
At Oro House, our staff is experienced at connecting with young adults in the midst of self-discovery to understand who they really are so we can be there alongside them as they grow and transition to a healthy and sober life.
We wholeheartedly recognize that each person’s needs may be different from others, so we vary our treatment program accordingly.
As each client grows with us, we grow with him or her as they progress in recovery.
We are committed to looking each of our clients in the eye and seeing them for the person they are, instead of looking through them like just another number. Each member of our specialized team cares deeply about helping other people heal, just as many of us have experienced in the past in our own lives.
Gender Specific Treatment
Times are changing today, and we recognize that however one identifies along the gender spectrum, there are still some very specific needs that all men and women have that are sometimes best addressed while only working within similar gender groups.
We do our best to accommodate those needs for each gender when it’s necessary for particular issues such as:
- Building trust
- Most importantly, a true sense of oneself
Over the years we have discovered that in gender separated group environments, many people are less rigid and more open about participating. This translates to more genuine and accurate forum results.
It’s crucial that our clients experience compassion and care, along with a sense of safety that’s imperative for their recovery journey.
At the same time, we also guide our young adult clients toward socializing and integrating with each other because it is a key component to living a much healthier, stable, and successful life.
Life Skills and Career Building for Young Adults
One of the goals for our young adult clients is to ensure success that goes beyond just sobriety and overcoming addiction. We want them to succeed in all facets of life. We completely understand that some young adults and millennials today are struggling with basic life skills and necessities, and it isn’t always due to any fault of their own.
Because of this, our young adult addiction treatment model places a heavy emphasis on building a foundation around life skills. We provide guidance and mentor them so they have a positive outlook on life, and equip them with the fundamentals to thrive during and after treatment.
We examine where our clients would like to be with a career, and help them develop the passion to succeed and find their own direction in life. Instead of judging them for past mistakes or where they are now, we guide them to find their role in life.
At Oro House, we are all here to be of service to everyone who joins us, from those who are sure of the direction they want to travel, to others who don’t know where to start, or are simply trying to figure it out.
When working with young adults we have noticed that many of them are unsure of career choices or what they want to do in life. This is to be expected, and our first objective is to overcome the addiction issues that may be making life difficult for them.
We help them heal physically and emotionally so they are in a good place to examine their life clearly. This important step makes it easier for them to make a plan with a clear head and put into action whatever it is that will help them get there. We are here to guide them along the way.
Transitioning To The Real World
After our young adult clients have learned how to cope with life without alcohol or drugs, we help them transition into who they are meant to be by incorporating many of the life skills they developed during their stay with us.
We help them integrate back into a healthy place and transition to where they want to be, whether that means going back to school or work, possibly with a new career direction. Often times, this relies on finding a good support system so they don’t undo the positive work they accomplished during recovery with us.
Oro House is client-centered and care-focused and we provide support from every direction, even after they leave our facility. Our goal is for everyone to succeed in life, not simply with sobriety. We take a holistic approach with our clients and support them with all life has to offer.
For those that need aftercare support or maintenance we have outpatient treatment and sober living programs that are helpful and convenient.
Our professional alumni program provides a community and support network for every one of our clients and it is available to each of them at any time after they have completed our formal treatment program.
We do whatever we can to give our young adult clients the best chance to live a happy, healthy, and successful life in recovery.
