Individual counseling and therapy at Oro House Recovery Centers involves a number of weekly one-on-one sessions with one’s integrated, multidisciplinary treatment team, which includes daily visits by a medical doctor during the detox phase of treatment, weekly visits with a psychiatrist for psychiatric medicine and the treatment of co-occuring diagnoses, three visits with one’s primary therapist, weekly case magagement sessions, family sessions, plus any anciliaries, such as neurofeedback, nutritional consulting, neuropsych testing, emdr therapy or somatic expericing for the treatment of trauma and post-traumatic stress.
Each client’s treatment team works in collaboration to provide healthy coping skills while encouraging self-exploration and self-awareness. They will provide a long term plan for sobriety and treat any underlying issues that often co-occur with one’s addiction problems. All of our clients are provided with this once in a lifetime opportunity to learn more about addiction, their circumstances, and coping techniques to prevent relapse.
Group counseling sessions provide structured and safe environments where each client receives support while learning more about the challenges of addiction, building relationships, and how to prevent relapse.
We believe that the encouragement from other people undergoing similar challenges is an important aspect of successful addiction treatment, as is learning to support and care for others. These group counseling sessions are available every day from Monday to Friday.
Couples and Family Counseling
Addiction has drastic effects not only on the individual with a dependency problem but, but also on the family as a whole.
According to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD), addiction is a family disease that affects overall family dynamics. Family and couples counseling provides an opportunity for loved ones to build and strenghten relationships, connect, and recover together.
It offers a supportive environment that increases the chances of long-lasting recovery and improved holistic health. The family sessions at Oro House take place on Saturdays and allows people to connect and know more about each other, often while having fun in a family outing.
Individuals who are looking for more integrative and natural ways of recovery, or those who have not seen results from conventional drug and alcohol addiction treatment can benefit from holistic psychiatry. The program is monitored by our board certified psychiatrist.
Holistic psychiatry looks at the emotional health, physical health, and spiritual health of the client. The approach aims to promote overall health and reduce the suffering of the individual as a whole. It targets the underlying causes and emotional disturbances associated with the individual’s pain.
Alo House provides an environment that feels much like a home away from home with access to a full service Gym for exercise. Excellent organic food is provided to help clients gain proper nutrition as they start their journey in sobriety. Clients will also have access to a full service Gym for exercise. Alo House offers a variety of recreational and experiential therapies that take advantage of the beautiful natural setting of our facility, including beaches and mountain trails. Activities include Horseback Riding, Sweat Lodge, Equine Therapy, Yoga, Sound Bath, Meditation, Hiking, Bike Riding, Kayaking, Fishing and Surfing.
Recovery from drug and alcohol addiction is an ongoing process that requires continual attention and care.
Our alumni program gives individuals who have completed their rehab experience a way to stay connected to recovery tools and gain the encouragement and support of others that they need to remain sober and healthy.
It is intended to facilitate a smooth transition from our drug and alcohol addiction treatment program to everyday life.
Newer members of the Alumni group also benefit from the encouragement and guidance of people who empathize and understand their struggles. In this way, our alumni can find a profound and very healing sense of usefulness in being able to offer support and encouragement to those who have come after them, providing them with inspiration and a roadmap for rebuilding their worlds after addiciton.
Oro House Recovery hosts alumni meetings on Fridays, and the program is available to any previous client of our treatment program.
