Dr. Itay Kohane, PsyD, Psychologist

Dr. Itay Kohane, PsyD, Psychologist moved to the United States to finish his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University in Santa Barbara, CA following eight years of service in the Israeli Air Force as a Blackhawk helicopter pilot.

Dr. Kohane began his clinical work at Tarzana Treatment Centers, in inpatient and outpatient settings. He continued working with children, adolescents, and families at the Child and Family Guidance Center, focusing on trauma related issues. Later, Itay worked at Pacific Pride Foundation, a LGBTQ+ and HIV+ center in Santa Barbara, CA.

He has a private practice in Los Angeles, working with children, adolescents and adults, where he specializes in trauma related issues, and uses empathy and curiosity as key for successful outcomes.

Dr. Kohane saw Oro House’s extensive level of care and the warm and respectful setting, and decided to join the clinical team. Here he provides individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy, as well as psycho-diagnostic testing.

His passion is to heal and prevent trauma, and is trained in Somatic Experiencing which is body-mind trauma focused treatment. He loves outdoors activities, such as hiking and camping, and enjoys implementing music in his life.
