The first step in the treatment process is usually detoxification. At Oro House, we offer medically-supervised detoxification services for your safety and comfort. Withdrawal symptoms can be highly uncomfortable, as well as dangerous, and it is never advisable to undergo the detox process without medical support and supervision.

Oro offers drug detox services with luxury facilities and 24-hour staffing. In addition to monitoring for more serious symptoms, we will also respond to the symptoms that are simply unpleasant, making the entire process as relaxed and pain-free as possible.

After detox, the client is medically stabilized and their body is free of substances. At this point, we’re able to continue treating the addiction, which involves identifying the root causes of the condition and empowering the client.

Our treatment programs instill a confidence in our clients that they can live a safe, productive, and happy life without relying on substances to get them through the day.

Signs of Drug Addiction

There are many signs of drug addiction. If you or a loved one exhibit any of the following signs, it may be time to consider reaching out for support:

  • Developing a tolerance for a drug, and increasing substance use
  • Experiencing conflict or tension at school, work, or home due to drug use
  • Negative changes in behavior
  • A tendency to be preoccupied with using and/or locating drugs
  • Increased and persuasive cravings
  • Risky, unpredictable behavior
  • A sense of isolation or disconnection from family and friends due to drug use

Causes of Drug Addiction

There are many causes for drug addiction, and often the causes can overlap. It’s important to consider that, while some of these factors may be out of the individual’s control, it doesn’t mean that anyone is predestined to live a life of addiction.

At Oro House, an important part of our treatment program is to identify the reasons or causes for an individual’s addiction. When this is clear, we can help empower the individual to cope and flourish through their own means.

Some factors that may cause people to develop a drug addiction include:

  • Genetic predispositions
  • Mental health factors, such as depression or anxiety
  • To escape from the experience of trauma or stress
  • Addiction to prescription pain medications
  • Social drug use
